Westgate Community Trust (Canterbury) presents The Wine Challenge with Clive Barlow, Master of Wine
You don’t have to travel the globe to experience the world’s finest wine, just step into Canterbury’s Westgate Hall, the city space with a village vibe.
Join the inimitable Clive Barlow, Master of Wine, for an evening of enjoying, experiencing and evaluating different wines from across the world. Have the mysteries of this most illustrious of libations explained, explore different grape varieties and topography, why some years produce finer wines than others and infuse your taste buds with the flavours from our very own county Kent, as Clive showcases why the county is fast-becoming one of the best places to make and drink wine.

The evening includes:
- A blind wine tasting quiz
Sample six exquisite wines (three white and three red) and learn from the Master, Clive as he shares everything you need to know to get more out of your wine enjoyment. You’ll be put into teams, and the winning table will win tickets to the VIP event of the Canterbury Wine Festival on 26 June, worth up to £350.
- A delicious Ploughman’s supper
With local cheeses and produce including vegan options (please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 20 October if you would like to order this option)
- The chance to enter the Wine Challenge Raffle
Be in to win a host of prizes, including a six-bottle wine tasting with Clive for up to ten people at your home in Canterbury or its districts (worth £250+). All proceeds of the raffle go to SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity, and Westgate Hall Community Trust).
- An opportunity to order a range of wines
As showcased at our June 2019 Canterbury Wine Festival™ and including those sampled at the tasting. All wines on sale are within a £10 – £20 price range
